SSL Opening accounts online with Members Exchange Credit Union is quick and easy.

Once you gather the necessary information, it only takes about 5 minutes to complete and verify your personal data, agree to the terms and conditions, and fund the account.

To make this a quick and easy process, please have the following ready:
  • Social Security Number or Individual Taxpayer Identification Number. You
    must be a US Citizen to open an account online.
  • Driver’s License or State Issued ID.
  • Place of employment and work number.
  • If there will be a joint owner on any of the accounts, then that person should be present, or you will need to know his/her personal information, including Social Security Number.
  • During this process, you will be asked a series of questions which will be used to authenticate your identity.
  • To complete the application, you will be presented with disclosures. You are required to accept them to complete the application process. Your acceptance of these disclosures electronically constitutes your signature.
  • You may fund your account in one of three ways:
    1. Mail a check or certified money order to Members Exchange Credit Union
    2. Electronic transfer from another financial institution*
    3. Credit Card

*You will be directed to submit a photo of your Driver's License or State Issued ID before application is processed.

*If you choose electronic transfer, you will need the routing and account numbers for the financial institution that you are transferring funds from. Please keep in mind that it will take, on average, up to two business days to complete the transfer.

Credit reports will be pulled on all applicants (credit reports do not determine membership eligibility). Minimum funding of $1.00 for savings and $50.00 for checking is required to activate your account. If the account is not funded within 30 days, it will be closed.
A Telecheck review will be performed for checking account offers.   You will be contacted via email or phone with instructions to complete the checking account process.

Online applications cannot be used to open the following accounts:

  • Business
  • Trust
  • Power of Attorney
  • Individual Retirement (IRA)
  • Investment (Money Market/Share Certificate)
  • Minor
